Happy Thanksgiving!!

Evan must be going through another growing spurt, because he wants to eat all the time. Many of his 3 month clothes are not going to fit him much longer!! He will be 6 weeks old on Monday!!

We spent Thanksgiving with Evan's Great Aunt Barb and Great Uncle Spence in Sturgeon Lake. We had a two hour car ride both ways and thankfully Evan slept most of the time and we didn't need to stop and feed him. The Thanksgiving meal was delicious as always!!

We stayed home the day after Thanksgiving and didn't do any shopping. This was a first for me who is usually eager to get out and get the bargains to be had:-) Must be all the late night feedings that discourage my urge to wait in line to buy something at 5 am for a few dollars less than I can buy it a week later. I suppose when Evan gets bigger and there is some must have toy I'll be waiting in line at 5 am for him:-)

Busy week

Evan has had a busy week. On Tuesday he had an ultrasound on his hips. Our Pediatrician suggested we have this done, because he was breech and his knees were up by his head when he was born. They didn't feel any clicking when the hips were rotated, but we wanted to be sure he was OK. The ultrasound confirmed that everything is fine! Hurrah!

Tuesday afternoon his Daddy left town for a business trip overnight, so he was all alone with Mommy. He was a good boy and didn't keep Mommy up all night.

Wednesday Grandma Shirley came to visit and enjoyed spending time with Evan. We went to Red Lobster for lunch and Evan was very well behaved and everyone loved him.

Thursday he went to Ridgedale looking for something to wear to his Christmas card photo shoot at Flash Portraits.

Friday we met Grandma Gay and Grandpa Bob at Flash Portraits to take some family photos. Evan got a little cranky during the photos, but it was as we expected for him being a month old.

Evan is 4 weeks old today!

It is hard to believe that Evan has been part of our lives for 4 weeks. It is amazing to look at the pictures of him and see how much he has changed. We know he is getting bigger, because he is out of his newborn diapers and into size 1. He is finally starting to gaze into our eyes and is calmed with the sound of our voice. He is also now enjoying his Rain forest Bouncer. The first couple times we put him in the seat he would put up a fuss and didn't like it. When we put up the bar he will play with the parrot that spins and watch the waterfall and kick his leg to bounce the seat. We put him in the seat every night when we eat dinner, so we can keep him occupied and quiet.

First dinner without Evan

Wednesday night Grandma Gay and Grandpa Bob offered to watch Evan so Mommy and Daddy could go out to eat without him. We enjoyed a nice dinner. Evan was very good and ate and slept most of the time. He was so good that I think they'll offer to watch him again.

I think Evan is going through his 3 week growth spurt. Yesterday he was eating every hour and really wearing me out. I got up at 1:15 AM to feed him and at 4:00 he was still wide awake. I was exhausted and had to wake up Eric to help me out. After 3 diaper changes and 2 changes of clothes and another feeding we were finally able to get him to sleep about 5:00. He was up off and on until 7:00 when I finally got up with him. After he ate we took a nap in the chair.

Is it just Gas?

They say when babies this young smile it is just gas. Evan is smiling at Mommy, so it can't just be gas. Evan has gas very frequently and he doesn't smile when we hear those toots.

We have to admit that he is pretty cute!

Evan goes to the Timberwolves home opener...in style

On Friday, Evan went to his first Timberwolves game. It just so happens that it was also the home opener. Daddy's office has an executive suite at the Target Center and Eric's group got the ticket's for Friday's game. So, Evan not only got to go to his first Timberwolves game, he got to go in style by being able to see it from the executive suite. Okay, Evan ate and slept nearly the entire time, but at least he's got the picture as proof!

On Saturday, Evan had an even better treat. Evan went and had breakfast with his Great Grandmother Martha and his Great Aunt Michelle. While Mommy and Daddy had scrambled eggs, Evan opted for the traditional breast milk. After the meal, Evan fell asleep at the hands of his Great Grandmother.

Evan's First Halloween

Well, Evan celebrated his first Halloween in style. Mommy got him all dressed up. He even made a quick trip to Grandma Gay's house so that Kim and Lynn could meet him. When he got home, Mommy and Daddy put on his Pumpkin costume and let him help hand out candy to the trick or treaters. However, as you can see, getting all dressed up tired him out.
