Go Fly a Kite!

Eric and I received this kite as a wedding gift 5 years ago. Today we finally got around to flying it out at the island. The kids had a great time watching the kite. They really wanted it to be lower so they could grab onto it.

The rain was trying to chase us away, but we didn't give up!

Eric was trying to make Alex believe he was flying the kite.

Thursday night Alex woke up with a fever and I was up with him for most of the night. I stayed home with him on Friday and ended up taking him into the doctor, because he had a fever of 104 that wasn't coming down with medicine. It was 101 by the time we got to the doctor. They said there are some viruses going around causing high fevers. By Saturday he was feeling better. Saturday morning he drank 3 cups of milk which was great! He wasn't drinking much on Friday and I had to keep forcing him to drink.

Family Picnic at Cousin Drew's

Saturday afternoon we went to Cousin Drew's for a picnic. The weather wasn't great, but we were able to get outside most of the time.

Alex plays some T-Ball with Uncle Greg! He can really hit the ball far! He did manage to get hit in the face a couple times with the ball, but he kept going back for more.

Cousin Andrea, Marty and Baby Eva! Eva shares a birthday with Alex, but she was born a year later.

Greg, Cousin Chris and Meghan
Eva even had fun playing with the bat and ball. She wasn't quite sure what to think of the wet grass, but she got used to it.
Mom and Cousin Drew and Rex
Everyone at the picnic! This is almost everyone we have over for Christmas Eve at our house. That's a lot of people! It was nice to see everyone in the summer:-)

Drew had a golf cart and Evan couldn't get enough rides!

They used a ladder to take the photo with a timer, so the boys had to take turns climbing up the ladder. We didn't end up with too many mosquito bites after spending all that time in the wet grass.

Happy Father's Day!

Sunday after Evan took his nap on the boat I told him he could feed some stale buns to the fish. He started feeding them and the sunny's looked like piranha going after the bread. He said to me after a few minutes..."I want some bun Mommy". I said "You can have some of the bun, but you are taking it right out of the fish's mouth"!
The boys had fun swinging before we left the island on Sunday. Evan is getting really good at pumping and can go really high on his own.
The boys ask Eric to do underdog while they are swinging.
I love the baby swing!

Daycare had root beer floats with Daddy day for Father's Day and the boys had fun! Evan just had a cookie, but Alex liked the root beer float!
The boys take everything out of their under bed storage containers and put all their stuffed animals and blankets to make a bed.
I can fit in a diaper box Mommy!
This box is too small Mommy!

A trip to the park!

Friday night we took the boys to the park and they had a great time!

When you say cheese you have to close your eyes as tight as you can, because that makes a really great picture Evan:-)

WHEEEE!

Minnesota Zoo

Friday Alex didn't have daycare, so I took the day off and took him to the zoo. I first took him to the Dolphin's which is my favorite and Evan's favorite too. We stood in front of the big glass window and we couldn't see anything. The baby Dolphin swam out of the other pool and into the big tank and Alex started screaming and he was afraid of the dolphin and pretty much anything that was swimming in Discovery Bay. We had to leave the area, because he wouldn't calm down.

I'm ready to go see some other animals Mommy!

He had a blast playing in the Woodland Adventure Park! I went up there with him a couple times and he just kept doing the same route, so I let him go up by himself. He'd climb up the stairs go all the way to the other end around the house and back across the walkway and down the slide and back up the stairs and across the walkway. Repeat and Repeat and Repeat = one tired boy!

Alex the turtle!

We came across the bears at 10:00 and they were doing some training. They brought Sadie over to give her some treats and check her out.
Alex was not afraid of this big bear standing up. She was totally calm and would take small treats for doing what she was told.
Kenai and Haines hang out and are thrown small treats while they do training with Sadie. They said the bears are 5 years old and are named from the region they came from in Alaska. They were abandoned by their mother and would not have survived in the wild. Alex would just say "Look at the big bears Mommy"!
On the way out to the family farm we saw the Tractor. They had one Alex could sit on, but he didn't want to.
We saw Goats and Cows and Sheep and Chickens. The goats got a little rough with each and scared Alex. We left about 12:30 and he passed out on the way home and slept for a couple hours after we got home.

Target Field!

Thursday Eric and I took the day off and went to a Twins day game at Target Field. He was at a game last season in his company suite, but I hadn't been to a game. We looked early in the season for tickets and everything was sold out or just single tickets, but we ended up getting a good deal on these thru stubhub..cheaper than face value. Just wait until a day or two before the game or even the same day and get a deal. There was almost 40,000 people there and the game was complete in just over 2 hours(very fast). The Twins won 1-0 against the Sox. We were in a section that was shaded from the sun, so I didn't get any sun! I put on sunscreen expecting to get a sunburn, but nothing! The sun did come out about the 6th inning.

Nice sunglasses Alex!
