Ready for snow!

We heard it was going to snow, so we headed out Saturday morning for one last snow free day at the park.

Getting out of the wind and cold in the tube!

It's not too cold to swing!

On our way back home it was starting to snow and you can see it started to stick to the dock.

Eric and Evan walked to the end of the dock and you can see it is frozen around our slip.  Alex was ready to go inside!

After nap there was enough snow to shovel!

Both boys got outside.  We didn't get out the snow pants yet, so they were pretty wet and had to change clothes when they came inside.

There is lots to shovel!  Eric used the hot tub this morning!

We have to try some snow!

Yummy, but COLD!

These toys aren't just for summer.  We can use the snow like sand!

Not sure this is the most effective way of shoveling, but they are having fun!

As soon as Evan finished his breakfast he had to go outside and start shoveling the deck.

Today we got the snow pants out, so they stayed a lot warmer.

What is going on?

The boys had fun sitting at the bar stools in the kitchen to eat breakfast!

They graduated from their fall session of gymnastics!  Evan is now able to move into the 4 year old class!

Evan wanted to show me his spider walk up the wall!  Great job Evan!

Last week Alex was the "Star of the Week" in the toddler room.  We got to bring a snack to share and Eric and I got to join his class for morning snack.  Evan got to come over and have snack too.  After Thanksgiving Alex will join Evan in the preschool room!  He has grown up so much and is ready to make some new friends and begin a new adventure!

Today after nap we went to the park to play.  We had to rush them out of the house, because it is getting dark so early these days!

Alex LOVES his new penguin hat!

On Friday we noticed this huge bobcat by the park near our house.  There were a few big piles of sand.  They are putting in a new baseball diamond.  The boys were excited to go see the bobcat today and get their picture taken by it.  They are hoping it will be working on their way to daycare tomorrow!

Tonight the boys made a huge mess in the family room.  They took just about everything off their beds and piled them up in the family room.

November 6th

Look at this big lollipop Evan got from Eric!  It was all over his face.  AHH SUGAR!  He didn't even have it for 5 minutes and he was done, so I put it in a Ziploc bag for later.

Alex doesn't look too pleased with his little dum dum sucker.  He gave it to me before it was done, so it was enough for him:-)

I've been looking at this cute penguin hat for Alex at Macy's.  Last year I bought him one and he just cried, so it went back.  Today after nap we went out to play, so I put it on him.  He protested, but he needed it because it was so windy.  When he gets back to daycare tomorrow and has his choice of old plain red hat or cute penguin hat we'll see which one he picks!

We took the kids to the playground after nap.  It was windy and chilly, but at least there is no SNOW!  Evan picked this frog hat last year and he always gets comments on it.

4 Generations and a Road Trip

It's not very often that you have an opportunity to get 4 generations of a family together at the same time.  Well, that's exactly the opportunity that we had this weekend.  So, Evan, Alex, Grandma Gay, Aunt Mitchie, and I piled into the car and we headed down to Iowa to see Evan and Alex's Great Grand Aunt Yvonne and Great Grand Uncle Don.

The sign outside of their new apartment.  You gotta love one level living.
