Fire station Birthday & DQ

Saturday we went to our friend Jack's 4th birthday party at the Golden Valley fire station. The boys loved being able to be up close and sit in the firetrucks. They got to learn what is in all those compartments. They got to try on gear learn about what the firemen do. Sunday we went to the zoo with all the rest of MN! I'll post those pictures later. When we got home we went out on the ice. There is well over a foot of ice left on the lake. Ugh! Two years ago our boat was already in the water and we had already stayed overnight on it! We did head to DQ for the first time this season!

Cleaning the kids room and other stuff

Today I spent almost all day cleaning the boys rooms.  They were in need of some organizing and cleaning.

Alex's desk was a disaster!

Last Sunday Alex had a high fever.  I brought him into the Doctor on Monday and he had strep.  We went to Walgreen's and got him some meds and he was doing much better in no time.  He was napping on the couch with his buddy Eddie!

Wednesday night the boys played in the snow with summer toys!  They are ready!

Tonight the boys hung out in the hot tub!

Race and Auto Show

It was a cold start for my 7K this morning. There was a large number (just over 10,000)of people running so it took over 50 minutes after the start of the race before I started. There were some icy areas but they were sanded. They had a jeep obstacle course at the Auto show so they took us for a ride. Evan blended in with the Muppets painted Toyota Highlander with his Kermit shirt. The boys wanted to check out an engine. We spent a little time outside when we got home. Evan was sweeping sand and Alex was driving his remote control car. As you can see from how they are dresses it's very cold and the snow pile is still pretty high.

Waterpark

I've got a race tomorrow morning and we used some hotel points to stay at a hotel with a water park. I'm a short walk from the start line. The temps should be in the teens but at least it isn't supposed to snow. Last year it snowed and was slick running. The boys had a blast playing at the water park. There were some fun slides and a floating log they had fun trying to stay on. Alex was wearing my race sweatshirt on the way back from the pool. The moose was really cute sitting on the bench.

Around the house

What's for sale at Menards's Alex? He has a fascination with Menard's and shouts out Menard's whenever we drive by one. He was reading off the prices and telling me what things Dad or Papa have:-) Evan has been fighting a rash since before we went on vacation. We think it might be from his down coat. After sweating outside at lunch his itching got worse, so we stopped at Kohl's on Monday night and found him a new one on clearance. Hopefully his rash gets better. I've been giving him allergy medicine every night. We haven't been using new detergent or fabric softener so it's odd for it to start now. Alex passed out on the way home Monday night on his birthday. We took him to McDonalds after swimming and he was too tired to play and passed out in the car! Evan wanted to hug Alex before bed last night and they were both wearing Mario Bros Pjs!
