Apple Orchard

Today we took our annual trip to the apple orchard. Yesterday was a wash out, so it was very crowded today. Today was a perfect Day. Eric was out of town so I invited my Mom to join us. They had a hail storm go thru the orchard in August, so lots of the apples were ruined so we didn't pick apples, but they had lots of fun things to do! They had some very creative train cars. The boys waited a couple runs so they could ride in the cool cars! When we got home the boys were using the tractor and wagon to clean leaves out of the street.

Take Me Out To The Ball game

Monday night we took the boys to their first Twins game. They had a blast. Alex opened peanut shells for Eric and they had mini donuts. Evan and I didn't get on the "Kiss Cam" so we made our own! The next day the boys slept in and got to see the recycle truck! Evan had picture day, so I took his picture on the front step.

Havin fun!

Self portrait! Do you have this genetic trait that allows you to curl your tongue? Evan and Eric can, but Alex and I can't. We had fun bowling with some friends last night. Last Sunday we took 3rd place in a chili cook off out at the island. The competition was fierce amongst the 13 crockpots of chili. We took the boat over to Wulette Bakery to redeem some free cupcake
Coins we got at the wayzata parade. I was soaking up some rays on the last official day of summer. Can't believe it's fall already. Although I've got a 10 mile race in two weeks and I welcome 50's for running over 80 degrees. I ran 8 miles the last two Saturdays, so I think I'm ready. We got invited on a charter boat this afternoon so I got a picture of the boys and Donald at the bow. This might be one of the last weekends we spend with him until next summer. Alex and Donald were pretending to play fake drums near the fire tonight.

Dancin'

Tonight we got to listen to the Knot Workin' Band at the island! The kids love the music. They wear ear protection over their ears. It was raining and chilly so we look a little cold and wet:-). That's our friend Dave dancing with Alex.

Fun at the park!

We took the kids to the park today after the Wayzata parade. Evan is getting really good at the monkey bars.

Minnehaha

Today the Minnehaha steamship was giving rides out of Wayzata for James J. Hill Days. I think this was the 3rd year we have taken the ship for a spin around Wayzata bay. At one time this ship was sunk in the middle of the lake because it was no longer utilized. Before there were roads around Lake Minnetonka people used the steamships to get around similar to streetcars. We love The Minnehaha and are fortunate that it was brought up and restored so we get to ride this piece of history!
