Kenny Chesney...in concert...and he looks like Daddy?

Denise’s company has a suite at the Xcel Energy Center. So, they get to use the suite for concerts as well as Wild games. Denise put her name in for tickets to the Kenny Chesney concert on Friday night and won. Unfortunately, her company’s suite is behind the stage. So, they give out high quality seats in the lower deck to suite holders. So, Grandpa Bob watched the boys while mommy and daddy got to go see Uncle Kracker, Billy Currington, and Kenny Chesney. It was the best concert ever. Uncle Kracker and Billy Currington both played for 45 minutes each. Then, Kenny came out on stage at 9:00. Normally, a headliner would play for 75-90 minutes. 90 minutes into the show, just when we all thought he was going to wrap it up, he announced that it wasn’t his birthday until midnight and that he was going to play all the way right up until his birthday…and play he did!!! It was awesome!

3 hours of Kenny

So, the story gets better. Evan and I (Daddy) were home Saturday afternoon while Denise and Alex were at the mall. Evan asked about the concert and I told him that I had a video of a Kenny Chesney concert with the Steve Miller Band recorded on the DVR. So, we turned up the volume on the TV (don't tell mom) and watched Kenny Chesney on TV.

So, Evan and I rockin' it out at home and then he says I look like the guy on TV. At first, I was thinking he thought I looked like Kenny Chesney (that would be a huge compliment). Then, I was worried he thought I looked the Steve Miller (the guy on the left in the picture above). So, then I got my camera out and asked him which person he thought I looked like. Check it out.

Dude! I look like Kenny Chesney. I love you Evan!

We are so done with snow!.....March 23rd

Last night we had over an hour of freezing rain and then the snow fell. I decided to work from home and Eric was going to work from home too. I'm sure my commute would've been 2+ hours. He brought the boys to daycare and it was CLOSED! We got 2-3 inches of snow! No late start ...CLOSED on MARCH 23rd. CRAZY! So he came back home with the boys and we spent the day here. I had to go downstairs to get some peace and quiet. Before dinner they went out to shovel some snow. Alex lasted about 5 minutes, but Evan was out there until Eric was done.

We hope there are not anymore shots like this until next DECEMBER!

March 21st

I love checking on the boys before I go to bed at night. Can you see George hiding under Alex? Poor George! George is always close by! Alex is sleeping in a lot better after a couple weeks in his new bed. He was getting up too early for the first couple of weeks. Most mornings I would put him back in bed and say it is too early, but some mornings he was just too awake to go back to sleep. He has learned that if he gets up not to slam his door shut and not to go wake up Evan! I think that is pretty good for a 2 year old! We added a child door handle to our patio door to prevent him from letting himself out in the morning. I would never worry about Evan letting himself out, but you never know about Alex! Eric was grilling Friday night waiting for us to come home and he locked himself out. He had to walk on the snow with his socks and sinking up to his knees to let himself in the garage door. Evan who pays attention to details noticed the wet bunched up socks in the garage. He said "Whose socks are those"? I said "They must be Daddy's". Later I find out why those wet socks were in the garage(hehehehe). I do admit that with the child door handle you can't see the lock as easily to remind yourself to unlock it before exiting!

Today they had a fashion show at daycare. I wanted to get a picture of the boys once they got home and they weren't cooperating very much. They would only sit down and had to be holding on to stuff! They were both very tired tonight!

Eric had Evan vacuuming yesterday afternoon and he was using the laser light to point out dirt for him to suck up! Evan was more than willing to help clean!

Happy St Patrick's Day!

The boys sported green Lucky Charms shirts today for St Patrick's Day. My Mom used to tell me when I was little that I was as much Irish as my big toe! Eric has a little Irish in him, so I guess the boys do too! Evan wanted Alex to come and sit on his bed with him for the picture but he was not cooperating.

I did get one of the boys in their Elmo chairs. Dora and Boots aren't looking at the camera.

Check out this picture from last St Patrick's Day! Notice they don't look up at the camera. I guess they are a little better at looking at me this year. I got the shirts a little big last year, so they would still fit again this year. Evan doesn't look too much bigger, but Alex is a lot taller and looks more like a little boy this year. He's lost his baby look!

A Mastercard Moment

Copay for a visit to the ER…$100.

Nothing more than a new Band-Aid on a finger right after the doctor tells you that leaving the nearly completely ripped off fingernail is the best option and then letting it fall off and regrow on its own…$89.90.

Working from home on Monday in case you need to run back and re-bandage the finger because the fingernail is still holding on by a thread and freaking out the teachers at preschool…priceless.

For those confused individuals, see text in previous post. Luckily, Evan's been doing great and is very resilient.

March 13th

This morning we got home from Target and the boys wanted to shovel. The snow has been melting off the driveway quickly after it falls, so Eric shoveled some snow onto the driveway so they would have something to shovel. Thanks Daddy!

After nap time today we took another trip to the park. The temp was above 30 and it felt great! We are supposed to be in the 30's much of the week, so that will melt some of this snow! A short time after this picture was taken Evan wasn't looking so happy. He was headed off to the ER with Daddy. We were starting to make dinner and he was in the recliner and it was reclined(something we don't normally let him do and he put his hand into the back of the chair to get an alphabet letter and it reclined and he got his finger pinched. OUCH! His finger nail on his right pointer finger is barely hanging on and we weren't sure if the other finger was broken(it wasn't). The Doctor at the ER said to let the nail fall off and watch out for infection. Evan was crying here for about 20 minutes before he and Eric left. 30 minutes later Alex was asking "Where is Evan?" He was so tuned into Toy Story 3 he didn't know Evan and Eric left. I said he hurt his finger in the chair and Daddy took him to the Doctor and he said "Where is Evan?"! They got home just after Alex went to bed. Evan just came home with a new bandaid. I would like to see the itemized bill from this trip to Urgent Care:-)

Happy Birthday Papa Bob! We went to dinner with Bob on Thursday night to celebrate his birthday and back to our house for a brownie and a song. The boys had some kiwi:-) I went to the eye doctor right before dinner and my eyes were dilated, so I could not tell Bob's eyes were shut:-)

Two boys in a laundry basket can only lead to trouble, but they smiled for the camera. Two minutes later they were pulling hair and hitting each other.

Alex gives Dora and Boots a ride on his scooter. He's been enjoying getting rides from Daddy around the house on his scooter.

Smile and say CHEESE! On our way to the park in the wagon.

Hug!
