Daycare pictures

Our kids go to daycare everyday. It is wonderful to get pictures showing what goes on while they are there. As you can see they have a lot of fun everyday!
I LOVE this picture:-)

It is fun to make a BIG mess with paper!

Water day!

Resting with his friend Andrew after water day!

Our big toddler:-) He now cries when he sees my car drive by when I come to pick him up like Evan did at this age. He is just so happy to see me:-)

Louise the first person to care for both Evan and Alex on their first day at daycare has a son named Tate. He volunteers at the facility and was helping to feed Alex on this particular morning. Alex really liked him!

I think this picture was from when Underwater Adventures came to visit at daycare.

Thank goodness for Spray N Wash! As you can see he does eat food he likes at daycare...it isn't all pickles:-)

Shaving in my "Big Boy" underwear!

Evan shaving in his underwear! 3rd day of wearing big boy underwear! Setting the timer every 30 minutes makes time pass slowly:-) Friday morning I asked Evan if he wanted to wear a pull-up to daycare. He said I want to wear a diaper...then he said..I want to wear Mickey Mouse underwear with the car on the back and I want to look at them in the mirror in your room! They set the timer every 30 minutes at daycare and he kept his underwear dry and came home in the same shorts he was wearing in the morning! He has had a couple accidents this weekend, but he is doing very well! I will be so happy if the pull-ups I have purchased go unused waiting for Alex:-) He is starting to tell us he has to go outside the 30 minutes and we even went to the State Fair yesterday and he stayed dry...Eric will tell you he was huffing it to a couple restrooms stressing Evan was going to wet his shorts(no worries Daddy..I'm becoming a big boy)!

End of August

Alex in his puppy dog bath towel! He is so adorable. It has ears and a tale!

After bath last week we started letting Evan wear his "Big Boy" underwear until after story time to see if he could stay dry. I tried to catch a shot of him and you can see he was so excited he could not stop moving!

Thursday at lunch time daycare called to say Alex had a fever and that he needed to go home. He had a fever as high as 103 and was not very happy. Evan gives him a hug to comfort him, but he doesn't like it very much.

Friday I brought him into the clinic and she said that he had sores on his mouth and throat and he would likely get worse and could have the fever for a few days. Friday night he was refusing to drink and we feared we were going to have to take him into the ER to get some medicine to help his throat, so he could drink to avoid getting dehydrated.

He had a miraculous recovery on Saturday morning. He woke up with no fever and drank over a bottle of milk. He didn't quite have his appetite back, but at least he could drink without pain. As you can see he is a little tired slumped over in his Elmo chair. Today his appetite and spirit have returned. He was sad when Eric took him to get a hair cut..(he never likes that)! In that pickle picture you can see how badly he needed a trim!

No Pickles for Alex!

This week at daycare they have had a State Fair theme. Yesterday was pickle on a stick day. Alex's teacher told me he did not like his pickle at all! As you can see they captured it with their camera. I don't know why he didn't just put it down! You can tell he is just getting more and more upset like it is strapped to his hand. Today they got to go to the Minnetonka Drive-in for a field trip. We will be heading to the StateFair on Saturday. Eric is taking me to see Tim McGraw for my birthday coming up! The boys will come to the fair for as long as they can handle and Bob and Gay will take them home.

More summertime!

Sunday they had breakfast at the island. Alex was enjoying his breakfast as you can see! It was all over his face and shirt.

Saturday afternoon the boys took a nap and then got up to do some swimming. Alex didn't spend much time in the water, but he sat on the dock for awhile and watched Evan playing.

Alex has some nilla wafers while he is sitting on the edge of the dock.

Sunday morning after breakfast the boys spent a couple hours in the water. Evan was pulling around Eric in the intertube. Daddy kept telling him faster faster! The boys were really tired and rested and dried off a little before returning to the boat for a nap.

I love this picture of Alex:-)

Summertime

I've been watching people tube all summer. Daddy finally blew up the
tube for me. Daddy is just pulling me around at the beach. I'm not
quite ready to go behind the boat!

Summertime

Mom gets me all dressed in my swimsuit and all I want to do is swing!

Friday night at the park

Despite the boys being pretty crabby and tired tonight we decided to venture out to the park after dinner. They had some fun! We didn't realize how hot it was until we got down the road.

You can see how shiny Alex's face is from sweat. When we got home it was so nice to get into the air conditioning!

Alex couldn't climb onto the seat, so he just straddled the pole:-)

Ouch! I think the diaper is giving me a snuggie.

Evan riding the horse..giddy up!

Alex follows in the steps of his big brother. He needs a little help to get up this tunnel, but he'll be doing it himself in no time.

First Breakfast

Some mornings Alex is really crabby. Unlike his brother he isn't satisfied with a cup of milk in the morning. He'll go running down the hall to the freezer drawer pulling on the handle saying "waffle, waffle, waffle". Then straight over to his high chair crying. We joke that it is his first breakfast, because he gets a full breakfast at daycare. This morning I put his waffle on a plate. He picked up the plate and was licking the syrup off. He thought he was pretty funny! Delicious:-)

Ah....big crane Daddy!

They're in the midst of adding on to Evan and Alex's daycare. So, there have been excavators, forklifts, bobcat's, and all kinds of other cool "toys" for the boys to watch for a minute or two in the morning before we go inside. Well, this morning, one of the largest mobile cranes drove right up to the front door, put out the outriggers, and raised the boom. Next thing we knew, everyone from inside daycare was out watching the crane. It was definitely the highlight of everyone's day (mine included).

More summer fun!

Friday afternoon Bob and Gay picked the boys up from daycare and took them down to Worthington for the local fair. The boys had a great time! Friday night Eric went out with Steve and I did some shopping and then came home and worked in Alex's closet to get everything out of there that doesn't fit him anymore. Alex is about 2 sizes behind Evan in pants, so whatever doesn't fit Evan is going to be fitting Alex pretty soon. Evan needed some 3T pants, because he has no pants to wear once the weather starts getting cooler. Eric and I stayed out on the boat last night and came back home this morning and got the boys. They napped and then we went to the park.

Alex kept wanting to get on the swing, but then whined, because he didn't really want to be on it. We are at the elementary school, so there is no baby swing for him. Time to grow up little man!

Evan had fun digging in the rocks!

He gets frustrated and needs some help from Daddy!

Alex loves any wheel! He steers the school bus again and again and again!

Evan is driving the bus and he stands up and says "Time to put out the fender"! I think he has been spending too much time on the boat:-) Fenders on your bus are attached and you shouldn't need to put them out when you are driving. Too cute Evan!

The boys are really into The Wiggles again. Evan got this Wiggles DVD for his birthday last year. They watched it a lot last winter and then have wanted to watch it again the past couple weeks. The songs get in our heads and drive me and Eric nuts. I think that must be why the boys enjoy watching it so much.

Alex driving the cart at Jubilee

I left work early yesterday to take Alex to the doctor for some shots
and an ear check. When I picked him up from daycare he had bad diaper
rash and was not a happy camper. He still has an ear infection....so
more antibiotics! Poor little guy! He enjoyed driving the cart by
himself, because Evan was still at daycare. He has pretty much given
up his pacifier except bed and nap time. I let him have it yesterday
and at Jubilee he dropped it back in the dairy area. "Uh oh" he
said. Straight into mom's purse it went. What followed reminded me
why I don't bring them to the grocery store. Many tears and looks
from fellow shoppers! Hoping he is feeling better today! Shots, bad
diaper rash and an ear infection...no fun!

Big Boy!

Evan is starting to use the big boy potty! Yippee! I got him some Toy Story big boy underwear. He and Alex take them out of the package tonight and what is the first thing they do? Put them on their heads! Good job boys!

Summertime!

Last Thursday was Dairy Queen Miracle treat day at DQ. If you buy a Blizzard they donate $1.00 to Gillette Children's Foundation. We had to do our part and stop at DQ for some ice cream. Delicious!

Last week Underwater World from the Mall of America came to visit daycare. The boys got tattoos. I think this tattoo matches Alexs' pajamas! Luckily we were able to remove his tattoo with some rubbing alcohol last night. After a weekend of sweating and playing in the sandbox it was starting to look bad.

Alex eating dinner at the island on Saturday night. It was a beautiful evening once it cooled down a little.

Evan attempting to be silly while eating dinner!

Evan laying down on the picnic table bench while trying to avoid eating his dinner!

Sunday was very very hot and humid. Alex napped early, so when Evan was napping Alex was playing in the sand and wanted to swing again and again. I was glad when the trees shaded him from the sun. I guess it was a perfect day to chill out on a swing.

I'm ready for fall! Sad to say, but I'm tired of this hot weather! I'm glad it is starting to get dark earlier.
