We've got a crawler!

Alex has just started crawling. He isn't going a great distance at one time, but he gets to what he wants and stops. Soon he'll be getting into everything! Good thing the cupboards are child proofed already!

I should point out that this is within a week of when Evan started crawling. 10 months and 3 weeks. I don't think he'll be 15 months before he walks like his brother!

Afternoon at the mall

Today I wanted to head to St Paul for the Winter Carnival parade, but the weather wasn't going to be nice so we decided to go to the mall. We drove by our Dairy Queen on the way to the mall and it opens next week. Evan wanted an ice cream cone at the mall. Here are a couple pictures of him enjoying it!

He played at the playland and then Eric said he could ride on the horse in the arcade. As soon as Eric put .75 in and it started moving he wanted off! Next time we'll just let him sit on it for free:-)

Alex had fun at the mall too!

He even got a little nap in!

Go Vikings! and other stuff

Yesterday the boys had to wear their Vikings shirts to day-care. Evan says "Go VIKINGS"! Good thing the boys will be in bed for the game tomorrow night, so Eric can enjoy the game. Hopefully they can pull out a win. Alex plays with the little people bus.

He pulls all the books off the book shelf!

Evan jumps on the trampoline at gymnastics. I'm not sure if this is his favorite part or the rings.
Fun RINGS!

This morning Evan took out all his stuffed animals out of the basket and covered himself up!

After New Years we were at Southdale and they still had up the Christmas decorations.
Who is sleeping in the Elmo chair?
Alex is crawling now. I'll try to upload a video later.
Evan put his legs under the rug for some reason.

The boys have been waking up about 5:00, so most mornings there are 4 of us in the bathroom getting ready for work.

Right before Christmas we visited a photographer to have our family photos taken. Here are some of the pictures.

When is Spring going to be here?

Yesterday afternoon Gamma Gay came to watch the boys so we could run some errands and go to meet some friends at Benihana. The weather was really cold, so it was nice not trucking them in and out of the car. Evan had gymnastics in the morning and it was -13 on our way there. Brrr! He really is enjoying gymnastics. Eric said he isn't afraid of falling. We signed him up for the next session, so he'll get to enjoy it for the rest of the winter.
Gay took a ton of pictures when she was here yesterday. My scarf was on the couch and Evan put it on(I think it matches his shirt). He is really into using the potty chair now, so sometimes pants are optional. It is hard enough to get a diaper back on him, so sometimes he doesn't want his pants back on.
Alex's favorite thing to chew on is the fence from his Fisher Price farm set. If you open it up he'll grab the fence first and immediately put it in his mouth.

Evan was trying on Alex's diaper backpack. It is so heavy it pulled him over.
Bob and Gay took Evan for the night, so I plopped Alex in Evan's chair. He really liked it. Evan doesn't want him sitting in it, so I think we'll have to get another one for Alex.
Eric set up the tent before we left. Gay said as soon as we left Eddie came up and laid down in the tent.
Alex wakes up from his nap first and checks out the tent.
He scoots inside. He is really close to crawling, but not quite yet. He just scoots on his bottom or stretches his arms out really far to reach for what he wants. He can go from his tummy to a sitting position.

Evan drinks his juice in the tent after waking up from his nap.

We have another swimmer in the house!

Tonight Alex started swimming lessons. Eric said he was a little clingy and was wishing he had trimmed his nails beforehand:-) He has been watching Evan in the pool almost weekly since he was born. He was excited to finally get in the pool!

Eric said that he really enjoyed the back float!

Thanks to Gamma Gay for bringing her camera to swimming and getting pictures. I picked up Evan from daycare and brought him home, so I wasn't able to be there. Evan kept asking "Where is Adix"? Eric had to sneak in the back door and sneak Alex out, so Evan wouldn't see him.

January 4th

My Mom saw this circus tent and thought it would be perfect for Evan. He does love it, but we don't keep it up all the time, because it is kind of big. Alex was having fun playing in it too. Eric brought it out while Evan was napping. He hoped it would keep Evan occupied during the Vikings game.
I was trying to get Evan to look at me from in the tent, but no luck! He's always moving, so he's blurry:-)

Saturday evening Papa Bob and Gamma Gay came to visit. Papa had a project to get rid of the creak in our bedroom floor. He used a couple packages of shims and pounded them into the wall under the trim. Evan had to get his little hammer and try his hand at the shim.
Now he tries the real hammer. A little heavy! Now we just notice a couple little creaks in the floor. Project was a success! Wish we didn't wait 4 years to try and fix the floor:-) The floor would go bang bang when you walked into our bedroom and you'd have to tip toe at night, so you wouldn't wake up Evan. This time of year when the garage is cold the noise would get especially annoying to us.
Sunday morning Evan tries to help out and feed Alex. He's such a good big brother:-)
Alex has his first waffle with us on Sunday morning. He looks pretty happy about it! He's good at taking little pieces and putting them in his mouth. He is just starting to get his top two teeth!Evan got this iron and ironing board for Christmas. I was showing him how to iron one of his shirts. Tonight he brought the iron to Eric and I and tried to iron our clothes while we were wearing them. You push a button and it makes the sound of steam coming out of an iron, but it isn't hot of course:-) With his vacuum, iron and dust buster he will learn to be a good housekeeper!
