Alex was tired, so he got put in his PJ's while the guests were still here.

I waited to long to try and get this picture with the two papa's and the boys. Neither of them wanted to cooperate. Nice try Nick! Next time I will try to get the picture before everyone is tired.

Happy 3rd Birthday Evan!

Evan turned 3 yesterday! We can't believe 3 years has gone by since he was born. Evan and Alex are big Toy Story 2 fans. Alex got Evan the Jesse doll from Toy Story!

Evan also got a virtual loop race track for hotwheels cars.

Setting up the loop!

JESSE!

Hopefully he will be able to wear this sweat shirt with pride soon! Go VIKINGS!

I took the day off yesterday and I took Evan to my work so he could see where Mommy worked and then we went to the MN zoo. The baby dolphin is not yet on display yet. We were able to go up into the auditorium and could see the baby poking her snout out of the water. A volunteer told me that they are getting her used to the opening and closing of the gates. Semo who you see here is in the big tank by himself and Grandma, Mom and baby remain in the back tanks off display. We spent a lot of time watching the dolphins!

Semo was biting on this teether, so we got a nice close up view of him not moving so fast.

A Birthday would not be complete without a trip to Chuck E Cheeses...so we made an appearance there last night. Evan had the most fun of all his birthdays. He enjoyed earning tickets and used them to buy some stickers, a sucker and a spoon.

Leaves are falling from our trees

Wow Daddy that is one big pile of leaves!! Can we jump in it?

Lets stand in the leaves!

Lets bury Evan in the leaves!

Lets run through the leaves!

Leaf blower! He looks like a natural:-) Do they make these in Jr. sizes?

Leaf sucker:-)

Daddy in the leaf pile with us. One kid is loving this and the other is not! Can you tell which is which?

Can a tractor go through the leaf pile?

Big brother pushes little brother on the tractor.

Now that the kids are broken in to cleaning up leaves in the yard maybe Eric can take them out with him. There are a TON more leaves yet to fall:-) The weather was so beautiful we just couldn't resist getting out there early to play in the leaves!

Alex was on top of the swing set. He can almost climb up by himself. He just needs a spotter. He goes feet first on his belly(he's gone down about 8 times, so I'm not sure how his shirt stayed white). I feel good about this because one day at the park when I wasn't there to catch him he decided to go on his belly face first. He was OK, but his face planted into the wood chips and he got pretty dirty and was pretty upset.

October 3rd

This afternoon we went to look at the fall colors on the lake via boat with Gay and Michelle and then took the boys to the park. Evan had fun going down the slide at the park.

The boys take turns driving the school bus!

Daddy helps Evan dig with the digger.

Gay and Michelle helping Alex walk out to the boat.

Alex tries to drive the boat as Eric looks away.

Occasionally a group of turkeys have been playing a visit to our neighbors bird feeder.

A couple weeks ago Alex's teacher asked me to fill out a profile of his likes. I listed Mr Potato Head as his favorite toy. He doesn't really know how to build Mr. Potato Head, but he likes to chew on some of the parts and take them apart. We have a big potato head that holds all the parts and he will bring it out of Evan's room and say "open".

Here is our Potato Head family. Alex brought that potato head family to daycare last week, because the toddlers were learning about body parts. They got to play with Mr. Potato Head!

Last Sunday night Alex woke up with a 103 fever. He stayed home with Daddy on Monday and thankfully his fever didn't return. This was him playing in the cupboard at 3:30 AM. He was feeling better, but not ready to go back to bed. He kept trying to run down the hall yelling "Avan" "Avan"! He thought it was time to get up and play.
