Vegas Baby Vegas!

Okay, so what do you do with a couple of vouchers from MLT Vacations because of our storied trip to the Dominican? YOU GO TO VEGAS! Eric and Denise went to Vegas for 6 days, saw the Blue Man Group, Cirque du Soliel, went up the Stratosphere, and also saw Hoover Dam. Oh yeah, and Eric got to play craps.

Glenda and Kevin's Wedding

Today, we went to Kevin and Glenda's wedding. It was beautiful, except that Glenda and Shannon made me dance to Kid Rock's "Cowboy". As a result, Denise forbid Eric from dancing to it at our wedding.

Engagement Party

Today, we had an engagement party at a pavillion in a public park in Eden Prairie. The best part? The best part was that our parents met each other before we even arrived! (I still need to find a picture of Denise and I from this event.)

Eric and Denise go to Friedo and Robin's Wedding

Well, today we made the trip up to Duluth to go to Friedo (Ryan) and Robin's wedding. 14 bottles of champagne in the limo later, Eric thought a self picture would be a good idea.

After Eric's meeting in Orlando, Denise flew down to spend a few days away. What Denise didn't know is that Eric had already bought a ring and brought it down with him. Friday night, we went and saw Sarah and Jay (before Devan was born). On Saturday, we went to Universal Studios and rode the rides. Once the rain came, we went to dinner. After dinner, the rain had subsided. So, Eric talked her into going for a walk around a man-made lake in Disney's Yacht Club Resort. Eric stayed here for his meetings and knew this would be a good place. So, we drove the Disney and walked around the lake. Fireworks were going off at Epcot and everything was right. So, Eric talked Denise into walking down to the beach. Eric knew she wouldn't want to walk through the sand in sandals, but he still talked her into it. When we got down there, Eric got down on one knee and ask Denise to marry him. Her first response was, "What are you doing?!?". Then, it was a resounding, "Yes!"

Eric and Denise both needed to get away. So, we booked a 7 day vacation at an all-inclusive resort in the Dominican Republic. We were able to sit around the pool, on the beach, go whale watching, eat all the food we can, and drink all we can.

Unfortunately, on our way down, our plane had to make an emergency landing in Orlando because the cabin was losing pressure. 3 hours later, a replacement plane arrived and got us the rest of the way to the Dominican Republic. When we arrived, we grabbed our luggage and put it in on the trailer behind the bus that would take us to the resort. Two bags fell out of that trailer. Guess who's bags they were? That's right. Eric lost one bag that had all of his clothes and shoes in it. Denise lost one bag that had all her toiletries and shoes.

Anyway, we still had a great week. When we got back, we knew that if we could get through that and still have a great time, we knew there was something strong between us.
