Sleepy kids!

Babies are so peaceful when they sleep. It just makes you want to take a picture and capture the image! Good thing the flash doesn't wake them up! This picture of Alex was taken this morning. I actually had to wake him up. He who is usually up by 4:40 or 5:00 slept in and I had to wake him up to take him to day-care. Notice all the pacifiers? He has learned how to put them back in his mouth, so I stock the crib in hopes he'll find one before he wakes me! One morning he had one in his mouth and another in his hand. He was so proud:-)
Evan passed out on the couch tonight. He was at Grandma Gay's today and he pee'd in the potty chair twice! Way to go Evan:-)
Grandma Shirley was here on Wednesday to watch Evan and she got him to pass out on his new bean bag chair. Good thing she moved him to his crib, because he got really sweaty.

Chuck E Cheese's

Thursday we picked up Evan at day-care on his Birthday and took him to Chuck E. Cheese's.
He enjoyed playing games but we couldn't get him to go on any of the rides!

Happy 2nd Birthday Evan!

We had a nice time celebrating Evan's birthday last weekend. He is getting to be such a big boy!
We sang Happy Birthday to him! Happy Birthday is one of his favorite songs. He always requests we sing Happy Birthday when he is getting his teeth brushed at night.
When Eric and I were at Costco we saw this Mr. Potato Head set with the big head and the whole family comes inside, so we had to buy it for Evan. The grandparents laughed at us saying we bought it for ourselves, but Evan really loves it. He takes the parts off the big potato and puts them on over and over!!

Win TWINS!

Today the firemen came to daycare and Evan got this cool fire helmet! He learned how to "Stop Drop and Roll"! How exciting:-) The big firetruck didn't come because of the rain:-( Big bummer.

Evan even let Alex try on his hat! ahhh yes that is Eric still wearing his hospital scrub shirt he happened to "forget" to return when Alex was born.....at least he wears it. That may come out on Halloween. Anyone got a stethoscope?

Evan still enjoys playing in his laundry basket.
He is so talented he can even drive his bulldozer while the laundry basket is on his head:-) He did need some help when it was time to go in reverse.

October 4th

We had a nice weekend. Friday night Bob and Gay took the boys and Eric and I had a date night at the MOA. We had a couple gift certificates to use at Tucci Benucch, so we decided to meet at the Mall after work. For our second date back in November 2004 we met at the MOA and ate at Tucci Benucch. We had bruschetta, chop salad and spaghetti and meatballs and everything was delicious. I think we did about 4 laps and covered all 3 floors while we were there. Saturday Bob brought the boys home and we gave them naps and took Evan to get a hair cut at Kids Hair. He did really well this time and let Deanna use a blow dryer and trimmer and didn't fuss at all! We were very proud of him! We headed to Ridgedale, so Evan could play on the play land and we did some laps around the mall. Today we went down to see Mindy, Brian, Allie and Emma. Evan had fun climbing in Emma's dog kennel and playing some Frisbee with Allie! On the way home we stopped at Babies R Us to check out some car seats. Evan is going to get a new car seat and Alex will move into Evan's. Alex is getting way too big for the infant carrier! We decided to go for a walk to Dairy Queen. We didn't walk all the way from our house to Dairy Queen!

I get a separate cup for the ice cream and he bites the cone!
He is enjoying this...it is just cold!
Alex chowing on a bottle tonight!

Bumbo Hat?
Evan the Dog?
Evan and Allie Fast Dog....zooooom

Play land. Evan was a lot more stable than he was last year. Some of the kids get pretty wild and he just tries to keep out of their way, so he doesn't get run over.

Alex is doing pretty well sitting up by himself!

Apple Orchard

Yesterday before fall hit our lovely state of Minnesota we visited a local apple orchard to pick some apples. I tried to get Evan to sit on one of the pumpkins, but he was too busy watching other kids and being uncooperative as I snapped photos of him:-)

We got to pick some Honey Crisp apples. They are delicious! I made some apple crisp tonight and it is YUMMY!

Evan picks some apples!
He picked up a few apples that had fallen on the ground and put them in the bottom of the stroller. That's Alex's foot you can see just to the right of Evan's head:-) Thank goodness he was napping during the apple picking!
Good thing the apples are low to the ground, so he can easily pick them:-)
At the orchard they had these goats that climbed to the top of their barn. Is this normal? How did they know the goats would like to do that?

They had some little pigs, turkeys and a miniature horse at the orchard. Evan was really fascinated with the horse. The horse gave rides, but we didn't go there. He didn't want to touch the horse, but he didn't want to leave the horse!
