Don't put the tree away!

We took down the Christmas decorations on Sunday. I came across the Santa Suit I had stuck in the closet, because Evan kept opening the box and spreading it out everywhere. I tried to get him to put it on for a picture post Christmas since I forgot on Christmas, but he protested and wouldn't put on the cute belt or boots or smile for the camera. There's always next year with Alex. Alex will be more cooperative right? At his rate of growth he'll probably outgrow it, but hopefully not:-) Until next year ...Santa Suit back to the garage.

More Merry Christmas

Alex takes a nap with Papa Dewey! How sweet:-)

Saturday we visited Papa Dewey's and he took us to see his trains. Evan sat in the pedal car after he saw Alex in it!
Alex was ready to go!

Evan had fun watching the trains go around and around. When they stopped he asked Papa to turn them on again and Papa let him pull the lever to get the trains going again.

Evan got a sit n spin, but he isn't quite sure how to spin on it yet. He'll figure it out.

Of course he wants to be on it because Alex is on it.

Alex chugs his bottle while we open presents.

Alex gets some new shoes with trains on them.

Evan finds Gamma's exercise ball. It is fun to bouncy bouncy!

We spent Christmas Day at Eric's parents with Michelle and my brother. Evan got some clothes and wasn't too excited about them:-)

You guessed it! More fun with tissue paper and wrapping paper. Who needs presents?

Evan has fun with Great Auntie Mitch!

New sunglasses in his stocking! How COOL!

Alex and Papa Bob

Evan got a fun lawn mower! It goes pop pop pop!

Me and my baby Alex(Adix as Evan calls him)!

Nice self-portrait Eric(I Love You)!

Merry Christmas

We cancelled Christmas Eve at our house, because we were worried about relatives traveling, so the 4 of us spent the day at home by ourselves. It felt weird not to have 20+ people here celebrating Christmas. Mom and Dad stayed home with all the food and had the neighbors over for our Christmas meal:-) We thawed out some steaks and had a good dinner. Eric found some champagne downstairs, so we shared a bottle and opened presents with the kids. Eric was home with Evan on Wednesday because he had a fever in the morning. He dealt with a fever most our time off, but today he started to come out of it. He never stops moving when he is sick, so it is difficult to get him to rest. We visited Eric's parents on Christmas Day and my parents yesterday to open gifts.
Christmas morning we opened gifts from Santa. Evan got this play vacuum!

This is my favorite shot of Evan vacuuming in the bathroom. He moved everything out of the way and he's using the attachment under the sink! This is a play vacuum! So cute that he imitates Daddy:-) Good Job Evan!

Alex got the old school Fisher Price Farm and Evan got a recycling truck. He's holding up the recycle bin that hooks on the back.
Evan also got a Silly Sam set which includes a broom, dust pan, garbage can, iron, ironing board. They all talk and say phrases when you push on their buttons.

I'll try to post more Christmas pics in the next day or two.

Christmas is almost here and it's going to be a white Christmas!

My parents got Evan and Alex some little shovels so they can help out in the snow. Evan got a chance to try his out and had fun helping Daddy shovel the deck this afternoon.
Papa Bob picked up this inflatable Santa at Lowe's. Watch for the video to be posted tomorrow. He talks when you touch him. Our neighbor down the hill has one of these and Evan started waving to him last winter. Now he just has to look out the patio window to see his own Santa. Thanks Papa!

Yesterday we got our family pictures taken. We decided Alex needed a little trim before hand so we took him to get his first haircut. He didn't like it very much. It took Evan until his 4th haircut before he stopped crying! Poor little man! He looks much better with his new haircut.
If you stand Alex up against the couch he will stay there for awhile. Pretty soon he'll be walking around. He is getting close to crawling, but not quite yet. He does scoot around a little while he's sitting to get near something he wants. He leans his arms forward and really stretches.

Preview of Evan's Christmas Pj's. We had the boys dress in Pj's for part of our family pictures yesterday. Evan's have puppies with antlers! Too cute!

Tonight Evan was helping feed Alex his dinner. He'd put way toooo much on the spoon and it landed all over his bib and the tray. Oh well! They both had fun:-)

Visit with Santa and Christmas Tree

Today we waited an hour in line to see Santa at Cabela's. We got up to Santa and Evan wouldn't sit with him, so just Alex got a picture with Santa:-)

Evan did like seeing the animals.

Yesterday when we picked up Evan at daycare he had what he called "a pony" in his hair. Heather put pony tails in the girls hair and Evan insisted on getting a pony too!

Time to put up the tree!

What a good helper! He wanted to help with the lights:-)

and try on the stockings!
Oh Christmas Tree Oh Christmas Tree!

Only 20 days til Christmas!

Does anyone have Elf on the Shelf? We got one as a gift at Thanksgiving. If you have small kids you might one to get one to start the tradition. We named ours Clyde. Evan looks for him every morning in a new location and he will make sure he is as good as a 2 year old can be until Christmas:-)
Tonight when I was giving Alex his bottle he was more interested in watching Evan sitting on the couch upside down.
Tonight Eric decided it was time for Alex to get on the Bulldozer. He pushed him down the hall and he looked a little scared. Notice Evan his holding his hand:-)

This afternoon we headed to the mall so Evan could play. It is amazing to see the difference in him playing here from a year ago.
Can't really cut that random guy out of the photo:-) He sat down right after I took the picture.
This morning I had to go into work for a couple of hours and Evan had gymnastics, so I had to take Alex with me. I decided to put him to work. He wanted to chew on my keyboard tray and beat on the keyboard!
I brought along some toys to keep him busy. He looks like he enjoyed his time at Mommy's work!

Alex is not crawling yet, but if I put him on his tummy on the floor he'll push himself backwards. He needs to work up his arm strength, because he is such a big boy! He'll put his head down every minute to rest.
Yet another big TOWER! This one created by Mommy during Evan's nap.

He wasted no time before using his bear blanket to knock it over "TIMBER". He said "again" "again"! We fix it and knock it over again:-)
Evan's friend Sophie got him a crayon for the bathtub. He's been having fun writing on the wall during bath time! He also likes wiping it off the wall with a wash rag. They love bath time:-)
