October 3rd

This afternoon we went to look at the fall colors on the lake via boat with Gay and Michelle and then took the boys to the park. Evan had fun going down the slide at the park.

The boys take turns driving the school bus!

Alex tries to drive the boat as Eric looks away.

Occasionally a group of turkeys have been playing a visit to our neighbors bird feeder.

A couple weeks ago Alex's teacher asked me to fill out a profile of his likes. I listed Mr Potato Head as his favorite toy. He doesn't really know how to build Mr. Potato Head, but he likes to chew on some of the parts and take them apart. We have a big potato head that holds all the parts and he will bring it out of Evan's room and say "open".

Here is our Potato Head family. Alex brought that potato head family to daycare last week, because the toddlers were learning about body parts. They got to play with Mr. Potato Head!

Last Sunday night Alex woke up with a 103 fever. He stayed home with Daddy on Monday and thankfully his fever didn't return. This was him playing in the cupboard at 3:30 AM. He was feeling better, but not ready to go back to bed. He kept trying to run down the hall yelling "Avan" "Avan"! He thought it was time to get up and play.

Minnetonka Apple Orchard

Yesterday we went to the Minnetonka Apple Orchard. It was a beautiful day! We had fun going on a hayride, eating apple brats, apple donuts and picking honey crisp apples!

The boys loved picking an apple from the tree and eating it!

Alex and Sophie having some lunch in their wagons!

Baby Giraffe at Como Zoo

Today we went to Como Zoo to see the baby giraffe. He was very shy and kept his rear end to us the whole time. He was still pretty cute! On the building you can see the height marker, so you can tell the actual height of his Mommy vs him.

Evan insisted on pulling Alex in the wagon for awhile. Evan walked the whole time and only rode in the wagon from the car to the zoo. We got there at 11:00 and still had to park in overflow parking! Evan enjoyed watching the sea lion. The polar bear was just laying in the building inside, so he was pretty boring. We also watched the Lions take a nap and the Tiger pace back and forth.

Boys having fun!

Last week Evan was a little afraid to start a new swimming class with a new teacher. He loves the water, but was very emotional during the lesson and they asked me to go sit in another area for awhile. This week I told Evan that we could go to McDonald's playland after swimming if he had fun and didn't cry. He had a great time during his swimming lesson. He was smiling and laughing! Too bad there were some big loud kids at McDonald's so he stayed low with Alex instead of climbing up to go down the slide.

Alex has learned how to climb up the stool in the bathroom and turn on the water! He was excited to get to shave with Daddy the other morning. Good thing Evan was still sleeping!

Last weekend we went to Ridgedale. The stroller was in our other car, so we had to rent this fire engine stroller. The thing turned like a mack truck and veered to the left really bad. I wouldn't be caught doing laps at the mall with that fire engine. It was quite a bit easier to steer once Evan was walking instead of riding. You get a nice shot of the top of his head in this photo!

Middle of September!

Don't they look like twins in this picture?

Eddie..do you want to see my artwork I made at daycare? Ahhh...No Thank you..says Eddie.

Alex is trying to drink the peach juice from his cup of peaches. Gone is his tray for his high chair! He has joined the table and is now using silverware and plates. He is still a really messy eater. At least he doesn't drop as much on the floor anymore.

Evan helping to make my cake and he gets to lick the whipper. He takes after his Mom:-)

Alex realizes he is missing out on something and comes over to check out what is happening. Whenever we are cooking Evan always brings over his booster seat and has to stir and pour whatever we are making. What a good helper!

The Sit N Spin makes an appearance. Alex needs a little help to spin, but Evan can do it by himself. It has funky music if you press the button on top. They like that:-)

Alex doesn't really go fast enough to fall off, so I think he was just tired. He is learning to take turns..this is difficult for him.

He loves to sit in the chair in his room and look at his books. When his brother sees him sitting there he tries to join him and Alex does not like that. Notice in the last 3 pictures one of his socks is missing. I wonder why he didn't take the other one off? Silly kid:-) Doesn't it feel funny to have one sock on and one sock off? He probably likes it because I keep asking him..Where is your other sock Alex?

Wayzata Parade

Mom, Sue and Rex waiting for the parade to begin!

We are gonna watch a parade?

Westie's dressed as firemen!

We love listening to the band! Too bad there wasn't more than one band in this parade!

Evan calls a police car a siren.

I LOVE getting candy thrown at me during the parade.

Papa Dewey...thanks for carrying this chair down here for me! I think it fits just right:-)

Parade Highlights!

Grill tractor..pretty cool.

Do they think those balloons are going to lift up that car?

TRACTOR!

A camel..advertising for a chiropractor. Don't let your spine look like mine..clever.
