July 23rd

Last Sunday we went to our friend Tori's graduation party. They set up this fountain and Alex had fun splashing in the water. It was very hot and I think he really cooled off.
As you can see he is soaked!
Before Tori's party we went to our friend Sarah's birthday party. They got what the boys call a Jumpy Thing and they were even able to use it by themselves for awhile. I think we are gonna have to rent one of these for our next party. They had so much fun. It was so hot they were sweating and had to keep taking water breaks.
Tonight the weather cooled off and we decided to get some takeout food and go eat on a picnic table at a park by the lake in Wayzata. They had a "nice" dock overlooking the lake. I say "nice" because it was teak wood and you never see anything like that at a public park.

The railroad tracks run right along the park. They boys were calling..."Train...Train...Train..where are you?" Unfortunately we didn't see a train go by while we were there. They do have an outdoor miniature train set up at the park. The train wasn't running but you can see all the buildings and trees and track.

This morning we went to HOM furniture to look for rugs and office furniture. If all goes well we will be moving to a new house this week. The boys picked the school bus cart to ride around the store.

After nap we went to Shirley Hills, so the boys could play. Alex enjoys driving the school bus!
Evan had fun swinging! WHEEEE!
Alex isn't big enough to sit on the seat and control the excavator, so he uses the handles while he is standing up. He was doing this for about 30 minutes and this 2 1/2 year old doesn't do anything for 30 minutes:-)
This was hard work. He was sweating:-) He only hit himself once with the handle.

Mound Parade

Yesterday morning we went to the Mound parade. Andrew and Evan watch some veterans driving mini jeeps.
A really big boat!
Alex and Papa Bob watch some go carts racing up and down the street. They had a cool routine and would peel out and spin around in circles.
I got some really big Tootsie Rolls. I WANT SOME!
Uh oh! I think this auto shop is advertising that you shouldn't do your own car repairs:-)
On a Saturday Evening in July every summer Eric and I go to Shrimpfest at the island. They boil shrimp, corn and Kielbasa sausage in a really big pot and dump it on your table. Chow down everybody! YUMMY!
Bob and Gay came to stay with the kids, so we could go for Shrimpfest and they took some pictures of the boys playing outside in the driveway.

Great job shoveling the rocks into your trailer Alex.

It must be really heavy Alex!

Happy 4th of July!

We tied our boat up to a friends dock on Sunday and hung out until Tuesday morning. Evan found this stick that looked a little like a tree floating in the lake.
He decided to go for a "little" boat ride with Daddy pulling him around.
We got a little time in the water to cool off while the boys took a nap. I was very slow getting into the water. It still feels cold...and I was worried about those little sunfish biting me:-)
After nap I got the boys to pose for a couple OFFICIAL 4th of July photos with their flag shirts.

You can almost hear them yelling CHEESE in this photo! Can't see the flags boys...Sit up! and open your eyes!
Brotherly Love lasts as long as it took to take this picture:-) AHHH how sweet!
My favorite:-) God Bless America!

Alex hangs out on the deck with his toys and loads up the dozer (bulldozer) with fruit loops. Good job Alex!
We head out on Dave's boat toward Excelsior to watch the fireworks and Eric captures the beautiful rays of the sun setting over big island!
Alex and I await the fireworks while he watches Baby Einstein and Toy Story on the iPad.

A caravan of Al and Alma's charter boats heading for Excelsior!

Evan wanted to go up on the bow when the fireworks started, but he didn't last long.
Nice Self Portrait Eric!
Alex is passed out...so tired. He wants nothing to do with these fireworks! My poor little man!

Evan sits at the helm with Dave and Tina! Tina and Evan are Best Bud's! Evan was doing "Cheers" with his sippy cup with the girls. We try to tell him that you just do Cheers once, but he likes doing it over and over. He charms everyone with his giggle and overall cute personality! Tina has 3 beautiful daughters and one of them just got married, so maybe someday she'll have a little grandson like Evan:-)
The crew on the bow awaiting the fireworks! I believe there were 21 people(two families of 4, two families of 5 and three boyfriend's or husband's) on Dave's boat!

Little Workers!

My little worker men! They both have backpacks on too!
Evan was helping me make brownies tonight.
Evan likes to lick the batter off the spoon just like his Mommy!
YUMMY!
Eric is training him for his new part-time job at the car wash cleaning car mats! Nice hat Evan!
Our favorite!
Alex's tractor got a wash too!
Nice job drying Alex!
Tonight after dinner Evan kept busy washing dishes(playing in the sink). It keeps him busy and he thinks he is helping:-).
