Visors and a painted face

Today was Alex's last day at his preschool, so I bought stuff to his class to make foam visors instead of doing a treat. The kids had fun adding stickers to personalize their visors. I picked out the letters for their names ahead of time and let them put them on. Evan finished up at his school yesterday so he was home today and he went over to our neighbors and came home looking kinda funny. Tummy and legs were painted too:-). Then they came back and she was painted too! He got some funny looks at the carnival tonight.

Schooner Days 2013

Tonight we went to Schooner Days in Eden Prairie. The kids rode some rides and we played some bingo donating to the Lions since we didn't win anything. Alex won a bear in his favorite color GREEN!

Sawdust, Parade, Streetcars, and Lord Fletcher's

Sunday night, Evan and Alex spent the night with Grandma Gay and Grandpa Bob.  What's more fun than creating sawdust in Grandpa Bob's shop?  Vacuuming it up of course!

On the way home this morning, we discovered that Excelsior was having a Memorial Day Parade.  How better to pay tribute to those serving our country than to salute them at the parade.

After the parade, we took a ride in a Minneapolis Streetcar that was built in the 1920's and restored.  It gives rides out of Excelsior. 

This afternoon, we piled on to the boat with Mike, Lisa, and Steven next door and went to Manic Monday's at Lord Fletcher's (where we met up with our other neighbors Mitch and Ann).  Fletcher's was serving $5 cheeseburgers.  At 3PM, a band played and the boys had fun listening to them. 

Too cold for boating, so we hit the lanes!

We took the boys bowling for the first time a couple months ago.  Ever since, they've been asking to go again.  So, we took advantage of a family special at the local bowling alley and gave 'er all we had.

Yes, that's Alex's real score.  He did use bumpers and the ramp.  However, he didn't get any help from anybody.  Maybe he's got a shot at the PBA Tour!

Perhaps Alex's good luck came from his friend at the lanes....Curious George.

 

Is it Spring yet?

What we've been up to lately! The boys went into the hot tub in the rain the other night. I think Eric was hoping it would clean off the layers of dirt:-). We had a couple warm days were the kids wanted to get out the sprinkler, but for the most part this Spring has been very rainy. We've been out on the boat a couple times and the boys had fun swinging and playing in the sand. The picture of Alex eating the ice cream cone was taken at Linnie's in Delano.
