Alex slide

Sophie, Jack and Alex take the slide together! SO FUN! No jumpy houses in March, so this is fun!

Happy Birthday Alex!

Tomorrow we celebrate Alex turning 5 years old!  This weekend we had a couple parties for him!
The kids would always try to get together to hold hands and go down the slide together.  I'll try to post a video of it.  SUPER FUN!

We had Alex's Kid birthday party at the Williston tree house which is like a McDonald's Play land times 4.  We invited a few friends and they had a blast playing climbing and sliding.

One of Alex's friends from preschool happened to be there playing too!

Two parties = double the cupcakes and Happy Birthday to you!

We invited the grandparents over in the evening to celebrate some more!
We went to Chuck E Cheese's tonight for Alex's Birthday, because tomorrow night they have swimming lessons.

Alex got a Lego logging truck for his birthday, so Eric helped him put it together.  He had fun with the logs and crane attached to it.
They had a new ride at Chuck E Cheeses and it is like a simulator that made them feel like they were flying.  The seat vibrated as they watched the movie.
We got Alex this Angry Bird for his birthday.  He loves Angry Birds and asked for this when we were at the mall last month.
We got Alex a guitar for his birthday.  He had one at preschool last year that he really liked.  Evan actually had a lot of fun with it.  Eric used an app on the iPad to tune it and then to teach him some songs.
Where is Waldo?!  Alex has so many animals on his bed  it can be difficult to see him!  As always hugging his favorite in the world George"the curious monkey"!

We LOVE YOU Little MAN!  Happy 5th Birthday!

FYI my feisty little Alex told me "Mommy you are shattering my heart" when I sent him to his room today for not talking nice to me.

Ahhh vacation!

Eric and I have been on vacation in Maui Hawaii! The weather has been wonderful compared to the 17 inches of snow and yet another school cancellation we have missed back in MN. Thanks to the grandparents who have been watching the boys and giving them much love in our absence. We've been able to Skype video chat with them which is nice. They like seeing our surroundings and always ask questions about the place. We drove the road to Hana which is the collage with all the pictures. It takes a whole day to drive there. Yesterday we went on a snorkel tour catamaran ride and had several whale sightings right next to the boat. It was amazing and wonderful. I was just checking Evan's class website and found that pic of him in the sunglasses and had to share:-). So cute!

Weekend fun

Evan was working on his Valentines and for once I'm not doing all the work. He signed his own cards and was happy his name has just 4 letters as I reminded him of Esperanza in his class and how many letters she has to sign. The teacher wanted to make sure they signed Evan vs. EVAN. He really struggled with the little a because they haven't practiced that letter yet. We even got Alex to sign his name on his cards. They had their last skating lesson yesterday. We are so proud of what they learned and how they kept smiling fall after fall and didn't give up. Before dinner the boys went out to see the neighbor kids riding around on a 4-wheeler and started shoveling the snow in the front yard into a big pile. Evan said they were going to shovel it into a big pile and burn it. They too are soooo tired of winter!

Is Winter over yet?

Today Evan and I ran errands. I have to say I'm tired of freezing my way from the car to the store and pushing carts over snow and wearing my down coat everyday! We are nearing records of below zero days this season. I took this pic of Evan and I during the Super Bowl. The boys were very excited to start watching the Olympics on Thursday night when they got home from gymnastics. They take an extra interest in skating since they have been taking skating lessons. At work we moved from the 13th floor to the 4th floor and the last picture shows my old view and new view with obstruction:-). At least I still have a window even if it is of the parking ramp.

Winter over yet?

Last Saturday we went to MOA to use our unlimited ride passes and had a blast! Alex spotted some cool stuffed Angry Birds. He bought the little tiny one with his money. They were excited to ride rides all day! There was a dance competition going on so we watched that for awhile. When we passed the old time car they had to stop for a picture:-) around 4:00 we dropped the kids off at Grandmas and Grandpas and went back to the mall. We met Steve and Lori for dinner and rode more rides. We stayed til they shut the park down at 10:00 and then drove home in the snow. Monday and Tuesday school was closed again because of cold temps. It was the 5th day they were closed so they have taken away some off days to make up for it. I really hope the cold days are behind us. I'm thankful I can work from home some days so I don't have to commute 2 hours to work!

School closed again because of cold temps

Spent the day with Alex! I worked while he kept himself busy! Playing on the iPad, putting a laundry basket on his head, counting his pennies(and cleaning them all up) and working out on the elliptical and playing trains! Sounds like more cold temps on Monday so hopefully school will be in session! Three days they have been closed so far this winter. Gay offered to take Evan today, so I didn't have to call in sick. She had to go to her new office, so he checked out her desk!
