Recycle truck and bike ride

This made their morning to see the recycle truck before they headed off to school! I picked them up at 4:15 with some grapes and the bikes loaded up in the car and we headed to the bike trail. We biked on a stretch that is a mile long with no crossing roads. It was great for Evan to bike in a straight line uninterrupted to build his confidence on the bike. Alex had the little bike so he had to pedal like crazy to keep up. Evan was a tiny speck ahead of us. Alex was complaining before we got to the trail that he just wanted to bike at home. Once on the bike he never complained and loved it!

Evan's latest obsession

This is great for his arm strength. He tried to have some other kids to balance the weight but they didn't last long enough. Next year he should be tall enough to reach on his own.

Fun!

Evan and Alex have been saving scoopie points from Culver's and Evan picked this stuffed cone. These snow pics are from two storms ago when Eric and Alex were in Chicago. We took the shortcut thru the woods to the park so he pushed his bike thru the snow. He as running into the snow bank. This weekend the boys were doing some work to sand the deck. Hope to get it stained soon! Evan went with me to the grocery store to pick up a couple things. He was also doing some sanding with eye and ear protection of course. Alex the early riser gets to see what the Easter bunny brought first! Evan wanted to go to the park after we got home yesterday from Easter. I'll post the video of what he's obsessed with doing there. In the last pic you can see our local fox. He darted past us in the back yard. He's a fast one! He didn't say anything:-). Now that the ice is disappearing we might see less of them. A few times we saw them run down the dock and hang out on the ice. Hopefully the will take out some chipmunks and leave the birds alone!

Happy Easter!

The race is on!

The boys went crazy finding eggs!

Alex brought home this bear named Sunny for the weekend from his preschool class.  He comes with a journal so he can share with the class what he did with Alex.

Papa Bob built this new tower crane for the boys.  Alex thought it was pretty cool!

It was a beautiful day for Easter.  We were able to eat outside and all the snow has melted finally!

After dinner the boys hit some balls around the back yard.

I noticed a pheasant on the dock a couple weeks ago.  He hung around long enough for me to take a picture.  We often see a fox, but he moves too fast to get a picture!

Last weekend some divers were looking for something by the bridge.  There were no emergency vehicles, so it wasn't a person they were looking for:-)

The ice is almost out in our channel, so hopefully we'll be able to put the boat in the water soon.  Friday they did a news story that the ice was still 16 inches, so it might be awhile.  Time will tell!
