September happenings!

In September the kids had an open house before school started.  They also had school photos that day, so I made them dress up and take some pictures for my frame to go along with their school pictures.  We got some nice and silly photos!  You can feel the LOVE!

The next night we took the boys to Canterbury Downs to watch some horses race!  It is $1.00 night.  Of course Eric did some fancy betting and came out ahead for the night!

First day of school!  Evan in 2nd and Alex in 1st grade!

Classic car night at the Drive Inn!

Early morning fishing while still in their PJ's!

James J. Hills days and our traditional ride on the Minnehaha!

They let Alex drive!

The steam operator let them control the speed of the boat! It was pretty cool!

Studying up about the Minnehaha!  This boat was once sunk at the bottom of Lake Minnetonka, because the old steamboats weren't needed anymore.  There are still some at the bottom of the lake.  It gives cruises during the summer from Excelsior to Wayzata.

ahhhhh!  Sweet!  She is in 4th grade and he's in 2nd grade.  Next year they won't be at the same school and I'm sad for when these moments don't happen anymore!

Alex made this himself out of paper bags!

Chili Cook-off at the Island!  We tied for 3rd place with our white chicken chili!

It's kind of a BIG DEAL!  16 different chili's!

We met some friends at Como Zoo and had bought passes for Como town!  I didn't realize they had so many rides.  The kids had a blast!

Kwo Ue went a couple times on the tilt a whirl!  I was glad I didn't have to chaperone them!

Chelsea Langhans

The early morning of August 22nd our dear friend Chelsea Langhans was tragically killed in a head on car crash on hwy 12 near Maple Plain. Shortly after we had the honor of celebrating her life with quite a few friends and family and hear some wonderful memories of how she touched their lives. We walked across the Stone Arch Bridge to honor her which was one of her favorite places to run! She had nearly 1000 friends on Facebook and she knew them all! We will miss her but will try to strive to be more like her by loving and welcoming to all we meet!  There is a link below to a go fund me page has been set up to help with some expenses and to pay for a bench in her honor near the Stone Arch Bridge. She was only 25 and taken way too soon and had so much life left to live.

This is me with Chelsea and her sister Liz at our Power Squadron change of watch in February. Her Mom Tina was our past commander and so we joked that her daughters where the princesses.

I can't believe Summer is OVER...here are some of my favorites from the end!

My Boys are NUTS!  LOVE THEM!  We had a great Summer with a Twins game and spending time on the boat!

Labor Day Weekend we did a shrimp boil out at the sandy side(It happened to be my birthday!).  We had delicious food boiled in a pot in the sand.  This year it was warm enough for me to get into the water...last year Eric had to walk the food to me on the boat.  The boys made 3 pans of brownies that we shared with everyone!

Paddle Board doubling as a floating table.

The raft we were part of on Labor Day Weekend.  We slept at anchor with about 10 boats Saturday night and it was 85 degrees in the cabin and it started raining at 4:30 in the morning.  We had a lot of fun!

Our friend Kevin got a Zodiac, so he let Eric take the kids out for a ride.

Evan found a really BIG bull frog!

Last weekend before school!

Nina and Evan releasing the frog back to nature.  Nina said We will remember him forever!

$5.00 burgers at Lord Fletcher's on the Wharf!  LOVE!

Sometimes you have to do silly pictures to get nice ones!

Sleeping peaceful boys the night before school started!
