Evan's latest adventure
Friday afternoon Evan gave us quite a scare. He had a fever starting on Wednesday and by Friday afternoon it read 106 after a trip to see our pediatrician. Eric decided that we needed to take him to Children's in Minneapolis. I think it was the longest car ride I've ever taken. Evan was crying, because he wasn't feeling well. I kept trying to talk and sing to him to keep him awake. I think he was close to passing out. When we got to Children's we were rushed back to the ER room and had 12 people trying to help make him better. His heart rate and blood pressure were extremely high as well. After 3 hours in the ER Evan was moved to ICU for the night. Once he got up to ICU he was starting to feel better and would look at me or Eric and smile. There was too much activity in ICU, so he didn't get any sleep. Saturday morning he got moved up to a room. He had an IV in his arm, so he couldn't move around freely. He is such a busy boy that it was very difficult for him to stay in the crib or on someones lap. Yesterday afternoon we had him walking around and he felt like he was getting some freedom back. They were testing his blood to see if he might have an infection. His blood work came back good, so they believe it was a viral infection. Today he got to come home and is very HAPPY!
We brought lots of toys from home to try and keep him entertained during his stay. Eric told him that he won't get any reward points for this stay:-) Evan would throw things out of the crib and want you to retrieve them for him!
