Grandma Martha

At 11:05 PM on Saturday night, my (Eric's) grandmother lost her battle with cancer. She had been battling it for over 9 months. As you can tell by the pictures below, we were very close and it's difficult to lose her. I'm just so grateful that she was able to see my high school graduation, college graduation, marriage, and birth of both of my children. She was my last surviving grandparent. She will be missed but her spirit continues to live on in the lessons that she has taught me. We will recall all of those memories and lessons when we lay her to rest soon.

I would like to thank the entire staff at Our Lady of Good Counsel in St. Paul (http://www.ourladyhome.org/). They took great care of her all the way to the end. I'd also like to thank my aunt Michelle for the tremendous sacrifices she's made to take care of grandma (and grandpa before he passed in 2003), my aunt Stephany for traveling from Chicago to St. Paul several times to be with her, my uncle Phil for taking time to be with grandma, and my mother who would even reschedule appointments and bring Alex and/or Evan up with her. She would be very proud of her children and will be missed.
