Boston and other stuff!

In early April I was in Boston for a few days for work. My yearly users convention was held at the BCEC. It was very chilly in Boston and all of us that attended came to the conclusion that CUE should be held in a warm weather destination like San Diego or Orlando. Not Boston in early April...brrrrr! I had about a 4 block walk from my hotel to the convention center. Some people had a hotel connected to the convention center. I was happy I could walk there and didn't need to take a shuttle from a couple miles away. On the morning we left Boston the temp was 37 with a windchill and my CUE roommate and I decided to take a cab with our luggage to the convention center. The cab driver yelled at us...telling us he'd been sitting there an hour and a half and we weren't going far enough(just across the street he said). I don't think he even turned on his meter. We gave him a $6 fair. I guess he was looking for a $20+ trip to the airport. NICE!

CUE Lab. Customers are able to come and ask questions

They had lunch and breakfast at these tables which was connected right next to the lab. When they opened the lab on Sunday evening these balls were everywhere! Sights around Boston when I got there on Saturday afternoon. I even found a little boat for Eric! Sunday afternoon we took a cab to the Cheers bar. It is like the Cheers bar from what you saw on the outside on the show, but the inside was different. Down the stairs to enter the bar.
Had a nice bloody Mary!

Staircase up from inside that building.

Came back Wednesday night and had a layover in Chicago. Was able to get some deep dish pizza in the airport. YUMMY! I saw some guys from a different group eating at McDonald's next door. They didn't know what they were missing. You can get McDonald's anywhere! Saturday after I got back I participated in an ECFE(Early Childhood Family Education) garage sale. I had a booth and sold a lot of the kids old stuff that they don't need anymore. It was a great success and I don't have closets piled with old stuff anymore. Still need to get rid of some clothes, but the stuff is gone! This is a picture of my booth! Thursday I went to get Alex at lunchtime, so he could nap at home. I was taking him to the ENT(Ear Nose and Throat) Doctor. He has enormous tonsils and I was worried they might need to come out. He wouldn't go down for his nap and finally did 40 minutes before we had to leave, so he passed out in the car on the way there. The Doctor said as long as he isn't being affected they don't need to come out. We will watch him close this summer when we are sleeping on the boat. We need to listen for choking or gagging or snoring to make sure his sleep isn't being interrupted. Did you hear about the guy who lived at the MOA for a month? Alex and I were at the mall shortly after he started living there(Day 9). He just got out today and they said he lost 27 lbs. Pretty cool. If they paid me to do that I'd live there for a month. He had a pretty cool setup with a bathroom and a curtain around his bed for when he slept. Now that the snow is gone Eddie gets some friends stopping by to say "Hi". Somehow they know he lives here and they come to visit. His tail puffs up and he starts to hiss and jump up at the glass. He isn't very welcoming, but they keep coming back! We frequently see this one hunting for food in our neighbors backyard. Evan is gone with Gay this weekend in Worthington. We stopped at Dairy Queen and Alex got to eat the cone. He LOVED it! Usually he just gets the cup of ice cream from the top of the cone. I guess we'll be getting two cones now! Alex's latest obsession is a show called Bubble Guppies. It is a show for preschoolers on Nickelodeon. He saw advertisements during Dora and said he wanted to watch it(I think he must've seen it at daycare). We started DVR'ing it and now that is all he wants to watch. It is pretty educational, but not as interactive as Dora. The theme song gets in your head and I think that is why they like it so much! Evan was calling it Bubble Gummies for awhile. They are cute little kids that are almost like mermaid's with a tail.
