Fire trucks and other fun stuff!

Last week Eric joined the boys on a field trip to the fire station!  The kids had a blast!  That is Evan and Alex on the right front of the photo in the green and blue jackets.

The fireman put on a fire suit!

They even got to sit in the fire truck.  Saturday another fire station was having an open house and we actually got to go on a fire truck ride.  Alex was a little hesitant, but he didn't cry and went along with it.

The boys found the sidewalk chalk and Eric made them a hopscotch board on the driveway.  Eric got a great action shot of Evan jumping up in the air!

Friday morning Alex woke up early with a fever, so he had to stay home with Mommy.  He was doing some coloring.  He kept picking the white crayon and couldn't figure out why it wasn't working on the white paper.  I don't know how many times he dumped out the box and then sang "clean up clean up" as he put them back in the box!

I gave him this red piece of paper and then the white crayon worked!

He had fun throwing it up in the air trying to catch it.  He had cabin fever by 10:30 and we had to go to the park.

Have you ever seen a black squirrel?  We have one in our neighborhood.

Evan got to open one of his Birthday presents last weekend from our friends Karen, Bryan, Sophie and Jack.  They won't be able to come to his birthday party, so they gave me this present last week.  It is a baking set with delicious looking cookies that are made of wood:-)

They have different kinds of frosting and stick together with Velcro.  There is a cookie sheet, oven mit, spatula and knife along with the tube of cookies.

You can even stick all the cookies together and then practice cutting them apart with the knife.  Very cool!

Evan insisted that Alex not play with this new toy, so he was patiently waiting to play with just one cookie!  I think Evan is going to have a rough time sharing his Birthday presents with his little brother this year.  Up until this point they really share everything!
