Play-Doh and other fun stuff!

Evan's teacher told me that he really enjoys messy art like Play-Doh, so I got him a set for Christmas.  We decided the garage was an excellent place to do Play-Doh.

I really needed to help them decide what to do, but they had a lot fun.  Alex learned that you put the Play-Doh in this spot.

and you push the handle down!

and SEE you get stuff to ooze out in different shapes.  We used a couple colors so we had purple and teal.  Our friend Sophie gave us her cake making Play-Doh set and that was a lot of fun too!

I thought this basketball hoop would be inside for the winter, but it works perfect in the garage.  You just have to move a car outside and wha-laa...basketball court.

Evan got his first Lego set for Christmas.  Daddy helped him put it together.  His fine motor skills aren't quite there yet to put those tiny pieces together.  This one is a police crime unit with motorcycle.

We've been playing trains a lot lately.  We have enough track to do two ovals with a switch in the middle.  The problem is Alex always wants to put every train car behind one engine and that causes a lot of derailments!  Alex got a new engine named Rusty for Christmas.  It keeps showing up in the back of his semi.  He thinks a train should go into a semi...I guess:-)

I think Alex's favorite present was this flat bed tow truck with jeep.  Eric had to take this picture because the jeep was being hauled by it's steering wheel and it was being dragged along side the truck as Alex pushed it along.  Lesson...Don't let Alex tow your vehicle!

The kids across the channel shovel the ice and play hockey on the ice.  New Years Day the boys and I decided to walk down to the end of the dock to get a closer look.  BRRRR!  I think it was 12 degrees with 40 MPH windgusts.  I was carrying Alex and holding Evan's hand.  That was a long cold walk.

Since we walked all the way to the end of the dock I needed to document it with a picture.  BRRR!  It shows in their faces doesn't it?  We are ready to go back inside Mommy!  The cold took our breath away!  They didn't even want to shovel the driveway!
