Almost Christmas!

A couple weeks ago Eric and I went to Orlando for a few days.  He was there for work and I flew down at the end of the week for a long weekend.  One thing nice about traveling in December is seeing another place decorated for the holiday's.  Eric stayed at the Disney Dolphin hotel and this beautiful enormous tree was in their lobby.  We stayed at the Dolphin for one night and then headed off to another hotel near downtown Disney.

Day 1 we headed off to Hollywood Studios.  We got their for the early opening and headed straight for this ride.  You ride an elevator to the top and a door opens at the top and then it drops you and you go up and down for a couple minutes.  For the record I had my eyes closed the whole time.  Rollercoasters I can handle, but I don't like rides that drop.  The fog was a nice effect for this photo!

Mr Potato Head Boardwalk Barker entertained us while we waited for the Toy Story ride.  This was a ride we should've got a fast pass for.  We waited for a long time and wanted to go on it again, but the line was too long.  Mr Potato head would tell jokes and he could actually see people, because he'd say "Hey Lady ..you in the green shirt".

Lots of the rides are 3D so here is a pic of us in our fancy glasses.

Downtown Disney had this beautiful tree that was made of balls that looked like they were from Cinderella's coach.

These guys on stilts entertained us for quite a while.  They were dancing and singing!

Sunday we went to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure.  Lines were relatively short and it was a great day to go.  They had a huge Curious George blow up figure tied onto the building.  If any of you know Alex you know he is a big "George" fan, so I had to text this picture to him back at home.  We managed to miss a huge snow storm while we were in Florida.  My Mom was supposed to come and stay with the kids on Sunday, but she was stuck at home, so Bob and Gay ended up staying with the kids the whole time we were gone.

They Harry Potter section of Islands of Adventure has snow on the buildings and it felt like  you could be in winter if you weren't wearing shorts.

Everyday at 5:00 Universal has a Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade.  These pictures are from the parade.

Scooby and Shaggy were in the parade.  We saw them walking on the street earlier and I did get a pic of Eric with them.

The Simpsons.  The Simpsons was one of our favorite rides at Universal Studios. It is the old Back to the Future ride if you have ever been to Universal Studios.  It is a simulator ride and makes you feel like you are on a roller coaster.

Last Sunday we celebrated our Christmas with my Dad's side of the family.  We got another "Kids on the Couch Picture..Olen(4) Ada (7) Rena (1) Alex (3) Evan (5)

Downtown Disney has a Lego store where they have Woody and Buzz.  The boys would love seeing them.

Evan has been asking for an icee from Target for a long time.  Friday night I had to run some errands with the kids and we stopped at Target.  Alex didn' really like it, but Evan did like his and managed to drop it in the parking lot as he was trying to get into the car.
