Making Pierogies for Thanksgiving!
Over 30 years ago my grandma Mary sat down and watched and observed her Mother Anastasia making the traditional Ukrainian pierogies. My grandma taught my Dad and he taught me and I taught Eric and now we are teaching Evan and Alex. My cousin Sarah and I trade off making them for family holidays. The boys really got involved rolling and Evan scooped the potato and cheese mixture onto the dough and then you fold the dough over and punch it to seal the potato mixture inside prior to boiling. Two thumbs up from these boys!! Dad likes to venture out and put different fillings inside the dough. His potstickers are delicious. The pierogies are good fried up in a pan after boiling!
