March 5th Snow!

This morning I got a call that school would be 2 hours late.  An  hour later they closed school altogether, so I had to call in sick to work. Luckily I brought the boys "snow stuff" home from school yesterday.  Watching this plow clear our street made their day!  I'm not sure you can tell the volume of snow from the snowbank they are sitting on, but it is pretty deep!

Hey Alex...Lets shovel the backyard!  This didn't last long.  They were using shovels and moving snow.

We decided to walk to the park.  I pulled them in the sled most of the way.  It was still snowing pretty good.

Alex has a thing with eating snow!

Evan sat on this tire swing and leaned back and got a face full of snow!

He tried to sled down the hill, but the sled just plowed and he didn't go anywhere.

It's fun to go down a slide that is full of snow.  You go REALLY Fast!

A break on the swings before we head back home.

He wasn't smiling for long.  Get that snow off me Mom!

Alex falls backwards off the tire swing.

We didn't end up getting too much more snow since the morning, so I don't really think they needed to close school.  It was a fun day with the boys.  I did get multiple automated phone calls on my cell and home phone letting me know school was late and then closed.  This is much better than worrying about checking and rechecking the WCCO website.  It is nice that they are using the technology they have to keep everyone in the know before it was too late.  I was able to let Evan sleep in a little(Alex was already up of course).  Tomorrow is back to school and work!

Snow Day!

First one down the slide gets snow in the face!

Lego City Garage

The boys were very excited for the Lego City Garage!

Busy Busy Weekend!

Today our Baby turned 4!  The time has flown by so fast since he was born.  He is such a sweet boy and we love him dearly!  We had his birthday party yesterday, so today he was excited to find a couple more presents from Mommy and Daddy and Evan.

He was pretty excited about the Lego Garage.  I'll post a video that shows how happy he was!
This Cranky the Crane that goes with his Thomas Trackmaster trains was one of his favorite gifts.  He loves to lift the train cars and even found a couple other toys he could lift.  The crane has a remote and will lift and swing objects around.

I made him a special star shaped cake which he really dug into!  Sometimes he just eats the frosting, but he pretty much demolished it!

Before the party started he had out his tools and was hauling a firetruck in this dump truck.  Love the goggles Alex!

He often lays down while playing.  He doesn't really nap on weekends anymore and sometimes I wonder if I'll find him asleep like this some day!

This morning I made him pancakes and Eric added a smiley with syrup by his request.

This afternoon we went to Disney on Ice and then headed to Chuck E Cheese's to celebrate our annual tradition.  I really need to remind myself not to go there on a weekend.  We got there about 4:00 and it was absolutely insane!  The kids did great considering how crowded it was there.

We try to get a traditional picture in this pick-up!

Alex was pretty good at this boat game you can steer through an river area racing other boats.

They have a new machine that takes your picture and will print it out for you on a cute little ID card.  You push a button for Boy or Girl and get one of four different types of cards.  Evan was a Stunt Master "Specialty License" CEC Extreme Member!  Alex a Hollywood Movie Set All Access Pass.

He got some new Hot Wheels Monster Jam trucks and a stunt course you can destroy with the trucks.

We had a beach party theme for Alex's party so Evan is modeling the lai's!

We went to see Disney on Ice today.  This was the first thing like this we've ever gone to and the boys really enjoyed it.  They had the characters from Cars, The Little Mermaid, Tinker Bell and Toy Story.

Last week when I was putting Alex to bed he wanted to cover up his George with him and I told him to do reindeer antlers so that is why he has his fingers up on his head:-)
Evan has been working on doing quality work when coloring.  He wanted me to take his picture of him with his work and send it to his teacher and I did.  She is very proud of how he has improved from the 10 seconds he used to spend coloring!

Sweet Jump Evan!

Busy Day!

Evan the Movie Star in his star glasses and Cars slippers!
Playing with Lego's at Legoland in MOA!

Nice work Alex!
Riding his favorite "The Piggy".  He was happy the Pig was open when we got on the ride.

Evan rode a black horse.  Something was going on at Nickelodeon Universe yesterday, because almost everyone had unlimited wristbands(except us) and the lines were enormous and they didn't have enough workers to staff the rides.  We waited through three carousel rides for our turn(this is unheard of).

We waited a really long time to ride on this Diego ride and then the ride broke while we were on it and we had to get off.  They gave us our points back.
Alex had his kindergarten readiness evaluation yesterday.  He is right on track and they have no concerns.  We knew that already!  They stopped to play with these toys as we left.

We went to 5 Guys for a burger.  Evan observed that there were 5 guys working in the kitchen.  That isn't why it is called 5 Guys,  but we wondered!
