MN Zoo in July

Today we went to the MN zoo with my friend Sarah and her boys Devan and Owen. We didn't take pictures of the animals, because they were mostly napping. We did see the new baby camel who was sitting in the sand while the other Camels were hanging out in the water with their humps above the water. We tried to see the Dolphins in the ampitheater upstairs, but they had it closed off. They only had the male "Semo" in the main tank. He was swimming around, but very interested in what was behind the gate in the other tank. We heard that "Allie" had her baby calf last night! Very exciting!!! Evan was very concerned that we couldn't go upstairs to see the dolphins. I told him we will go back, so we can see the baby dolphin (I want to see it too). He really wants to see it! It sounds from their website that the new dolphin won't be on display until Fall:-( One of the volunteers showed us on a rope that a baby dolphin is only about 3 to 4 feet long! Evan kept talking about how the door was locked and we couldn't go upstairs to see the dolphin.

They have a new Woodland Adventure Park where the boys had a blast playing. Alex, Evan and Owen crawled in this cute bird nest. I think they look like some hungry baby birds:-)

Alex loves to climb into a chair himself and sit down:-)

Alex and Evan try to walk on the unstable walkway!

Alex being such a new walker it was difficult for him to walk, but he was so happy that I took him up there. They said this is really meant for ages 3 and up.

Sarah said we should bring the boys swimsuits for the Splash Pad! Evan and Devan had fun getting wet running through the water shooting out of the ground.

The boys were very interested in this bubbling mud!

Alex got tired and passed out. He was in the front of the stroller. I was able to move him to the back of the stroller after awhile, so he was more comfortable.

When we got home Evan took a short nap and then we went to Dairy Queen, so he could get some ice cream. Alex wasn't very interested in eating ice cream, but he polished off a hot dog:-)

Then we went to a local park and the boys played for awhile. We had a very busy weekend and are really having a GREAT summer! Alex is so much easier than he was last summer!!!
