Dolphins and Dora!

Saturday we went to the Mall of America. They have characters like Sponge Bob and Dora that stand in a booth for 30 minutes a few times a day. We passed one spot and it said she wasn't going to be there for 2 more hours. We did some walking around and found she would be in another spot in just 10 minutes. Sponge Bob was there taking pictures with many of his fans. Dora came out and Alex wanted to go see her immediately. Evan didn't(he is afraid of Santa too)! So we get up there and Alex becomes a cling on and won't even look at Dora(his idol) much less give her high five. The handler encouraged me to stand by her and offered to take a picture of us with my phone(very nice). They take a picture you can buy, but I thought it was nice you could take your own for free..as they could really charge to take pictures with these characters(but I'm glad it was free)!...since you can't even see Alex's face(little chicken). Maybe next time they will be brave and give her high five. You'd think they would give her a longer shirt! I laugh when I watch the old Dora episodes with the boys and you can see her belly!

REALLY BIG DORA!

Little man with his George! So SWEET!

The Valentine cards I got for the boys came in these cute mailboxes. They have red LED lights on the top that light up when you shut the mailbox. They were playing with them on Sunday.

Evan opening his mailbox to check out the cards inside.

I took the day off today and Evan and I went to the zoo. The baby dolphin "Taijah" is now on display and we got to see quite a bit of her today. We caught two dolphin feedings. Evan is watching the dolphins intently.

So CUTE!

You can see (what we boating people would call) a fender floating there in the water. Taijah managed to flip two of those right out of the pool! We saw Semo flip out a football. They don't give the toy back to the dolphin right away...I guess that would encourage them to keep throwing out the toys. It was fun to watch..so I wished they would let them do it more often.

Semo "Daddy" up on the platform during the feeding/show.

It was a beautiful day to go to the zoo! 59 degrees my car thermometer said on the way home.

You'd think the zoo would not be busy on a Wednesday in the middle of February. It was Spanish day at the zoo. There were hundreds of High School kids there doing presentations on animals in Spanish by almost every animal we went by. Some were even dressed as the animals(didn't set well with Evan). The teenagers were pretty considerate and a couple opened doors for us our moved out of our way when they were in our way. Sometimes it seems like teenagers are so oblivious to anyone but themselves(I'm sure I was not that way when I was a teenager).
