busy busy busy!

I've been neglecting the blog, because we have been so busy.  Friday night we went to the Minnetonka Drive Inn for dinner.  We usually don't eat in the car and walk up to order and sit at a picnic table.  It was a beautiful night.

While we waited for our food the boys put on our sunglasses!

Saturday night Eric and I did Shrimp Fest out at the island.  They boil..Shrimp, Kielbasa sausage and corn together with spices and pour it out on the table ...EAT UP!  YUMMY!

DEER ON THE DOCK!  If you are at our house long enough or keep checking soon enough you will see a deer crossing our dock.  They usually stop for a few minutes and stand on the wood, so it is easy to get a picture of them.  They live in the wetlands so they cross the dock to get from feeding to shelter.  A few years ago Eric and I saw a big buck swimming across a large body of water in the lake.  That was a sight to see!  I'll never forget listening to him breathe heavy as he swam to get to land with his big antlers up in the air.  I wish I would've had my camera for that!

Last Thursday Eric and I went to Canterbury to watch some horse races.  Eric did very well and made a few bucks!  Me...not so much!  Before they head out to the track they walk them around this circle in the back and the jockies hop on.  I think we will try to get there with the boys for some Sunday afternoon races.

This horse is being led out to the gate.

This horse is getting ready to cross the finish line!

Last week I had the opportunity to paint a house with a group of co-workers for Habitat for Humanity.  We painted for awhile and were making progress and a big rain storm blew through.

A lot of the paint got washed off  from the rain and we had to stop!  It was sad not to be able to finish:-(

3rd Saturday in July is Spirit of the Lakes in Mound, so of course the parade was on Saturday morning.

The morning started with lightning and thunder, but it ended before the parade.  There were a few sprinkles as we got our spot and waited for the parade to start.

We love getting candy at parades!

I think I need some help with this umbrella!

The firetrucks head up the rear of the parade and are highly anticipated by these boys of ours!

After the parade our friend Sophie was having her 4th Birthday Party, so we want to her house and she had a jumpy house!

The boys were having a great time!

They are digging up the roads in our neighborhood and putting in new hydrants and some sewer and water and making a big mess.  The equipment was parked near the park by our house last weekend.

Eric took the kids down to the park, so they could get up close to the equipment.  They LOVE THIS STUFF!  The other morning we got to watch the bulldozer drive right by our house!  We could hear it shake the ground as I was putting Evan in the car before school.

Eric asks Evan..."How many of your friends do you think you can fit in this bucket"  "I think eight" Evan says.  That big bucket is used to break through the asphalt and dig REALLY BIG holes!

Tonight when we came home the bulldozer was grading the road, so we watched him move dirt around for about 10 minutes.

Playing at the park!

The boys want to ride bikes all the time.  It's been so hot, but they don't seem to mind.

Tonight we took some corn down to try and feed the fish.

Too many weeds...No fish:-(  The kids didn't seem to mind.

We are growing zucchini in our garden.  I think those flowers are a good sign we might see some!
