End of school and more summer fun!

Last day of school front step pictures.  They were not being very cooperative until they found Dad was photo bombing them!

There were only 7 boys in Alex's class and this is 6 of them.  They really had a lot of girls in their class.  These boys really bonded are the best of buds.  I hope they are together in 1st grade!  They had a graduation ceremony and the kids got to demonstrate something for all the parents  Alex drew a cube! 

My parents took the kids for a couple days after school got out and we went off to Chino Latino since it was a rainy evening and boating would not have been any fun.  Coconut Curry Shrimp is my favorite!  We haven't been there since last year.  

Thursday night we went to Lord Fletcher's and met up with some friends to listen to a band play. 

Saturday we were out at the island and it was a chilly but sunny day.

At baseball we saw someone with this Styrofoam plane and I saw one at Target and had to get them one.  It kept them entertained.  It is held together with some duct tape now, but it still flies.

Last year the boys were on the same team and that was very convenient.  Now they have different games at different times and sometimes the same time, so it takes a little shuffling and waiting while the other one plays.

We got to meet Spider-man and I found out he was going to be at Dakota Junction on Tuesday, so we went there for dinner and saw him.  The Villain was there too.

Friday we held our annual HopeKids event at the island.  We hosted over 130 people and showed them a great time trying to help them forget about their illness.  It was a perfect day!  We let the kids join us this year and then had fun  helping show the kids a great time.

On Father's Day morning I made some brownie-cookies and Alex had to lick the spatula.  He is a man after my own heart.

We did the Westonka Colorathon at the beginning of May!  It was a 5k to raise money for technology for the school.  

Then Eric and I headed downtown to celebrate our 9th anniversary!

The kids had a day off of school and we went to the Sea Life Aquarium at MOA and then rode rides a Nickelodeon Universe!

Can you do this with your tongue?  I cannot, but Eric and my Mom can!

Alex is finally 48 in and can ride Ninja Turtles and Sponge Bob!

Mother's Day! 

Evan had hawiian day at school and had to show off this grass skirt!

We didn't have the kids last weekend and biked almost 10 miles to dinner! These flowers were at The Depot in Wayzata where we parked the bikes and changed before dinner.

I saw this little snapper going up our street and then she tried climbing this retaining wall.  She didn't make it! Smallest turtle I've seen ready to lay eggs !

Evan is playing baseball and having fun!  Alex doesn't start until after school is out.  They are in different age brackets this year and will be back together next year again.

Beautiful night!

Took this beautiful pic last Friday on a short cruise on a perfect evening!  That is our neighbor girl Sabrina with the boys!  She is a great buffer for them!

Alex is excited about reading anything Mo Willems!  I absolutely LOVE his books too!

April 12th

  Have you checked out the MN DNR eagle cam?  It's awesome!  The eaglets are getting big!  I'm always amazed when I see them flying around but to see inside their nest is amazing!  You will see some gross stuff so it isn't for those that have a weak stomach!  MN Bound also has an eagle cam, but the eaglets were just born so mom and dad spend a lot of time sitting on them.  They will grow fast!  Google it!

Last week was a very gloomy week for us so we had to go enjoy the sunset Friday night.

The kids got these balls for Easter from Grandma Gay and they had fun trying to throw them up on the deck.  The balls are kind of stretchy and look like they have hair and they light up.  They are pretty sturdy!

Friday night we made pierogies and the boys just love them!  The boys were down loading up the boat and I got all the ingredients together and put them in the bread machine!  That worked perfect to mix up the dough!

The boat went in the water Friday morning when it was Snowing!  We were able to take it out yesterday for its first voyage of the season!

We stopped at the island and set up the playground!

We ran into Michael and Mitchell who were there too!  The docks haven't been put in yet so not many people can be out there yet.

Alex helped me make banana bread last night YUMMY!  Trying to teach him how to bake!  I wonder if he'll do it himself someday?  Certainly a little messier than baking on my own

The boys are obsessed with UNO!  We have been playing every night!  They are learning how to lose!  

Evan and Alex Visit the Science Museum with Dad for Spring Break

Last week, the boys had spring break. So, I took a couple days off and we spent one of those days at the Science Museum.  The theme at their school this year is "Out of this World".  Since there was a space exhibit and an IMAX movie about space, I thought it would be a great idea.  Here are some pictures of our fun!

They had a "playscape" there that was made completely out of cellophane and packaging tape (from 3M, of course).  They played on it for over 30 minutes.
